Lindos Village Acropolis

The seaside white settlement that nests under the ancient castle
enchants Lindos Rhodes.

Rhodes ranks high in the preferences of tourists
and the cosmopolitan Lindos,
with the proud castle at the top,
is a top landmark of the island.

Lindos is about 55 km
from the city of Rhodes

combining the archaeological site with the most advanced
tourist infrastructure,
while it is one of the hottest places in Greece, with an average
annual temperature of 21.4 ° C

The cosmopolitan atmosphere
of summer in Lindos,
the delicious local cuisine,
the emerald waters of the sea,

ideal for swimming and diving and the importance
of the archeological site,
reveal the secrets for moments
of carefree
and relaxation.

Rhodes Lindos toursUnique example
of architecture in Rhodes

The traditional city of Lindos
is a unique example
of folk architecture.

Lindos was a crossroads
of civilizations,
with the medieval, Byzantine
and Arabic styles

creating together the distinctive architecture of its houses.

Be a Witness
of the rich history
of Lindos

As Lindos has been inhabited continuously over the centuries,
this area has a rich history and has revealed archaeological
finds from the archaic era and later, as well as building activity
that reaches the era of the Knights (14th-16th century).

This rich history,
combined with the unique beauty,
natural view
of the site make
the citadel of Lindos
one of the most popular
archaeological sites in Greece.

Lindos st Pauls Bay

Most cruise lines
that visit Rhodes island

for a day usually offer
a day tour to Lindos.

Usually for cruise passengers
are not needed
more than 2 hours in Lindos.

During their short stay in the traditional village
they can use their time
to climb up to the Acropolis
of Lindos
(40min walking one way)
or to spend the time walking
in the narrow streets with

the spectacular Lindian Houses,
and enjoy a drink.

Travelers with physical disabilities may not be able
to climb the Lindos Acropolis.

BARS TO RELAX/CHILL OUT
Even many of the livelier music bars have quieter
outside terraces but some of the nicer bars to
just relax and take in the views are

APOLLO BAR
(next to the main church of Lindos on the steps to Acropolis).
Friendly, family run bar that opens way into the early hours.

CAPTAINS HOUSE
(walk past Museum Bar and follow signs for the Acropolis).
This is a traditional Lindian Captains House with the main bar situated
in the front courtyard. Very atmospheric and a good place for pre dinner drinks.

RAINBIRD BAR
(off to the left on the road to the small/pallas beach).
Boasts the best views in Lindos and a nice place
to rest for a beer after your walk up from the beach.

LINDOS BY NIGHT
(down the road from
Courtyard Bar).
The inside bar of
LindosBy Night can get

quite lively but for
a relaxing night with views

over the village
and Acropolis, take a seat in

one of the pretty
garden terraces.

YANNIS BAR
(on a corner as you turn from the main street towards Lindos Reception).
Situated on a very busy corner and one of the
best places in Lindos if you enjoy a bit of people watching.

THE SUNBURNT ARMS
(a few yards down from the donkey station by Hermes restaurant).
A tiny, friendly, British run bar.

MUSIC BARS
Many bars worth visting but this list covers
a few as you walk down from Lindos
Reception/Top Car Park.

DREAMS BAR
A 3 level bar with great views from the roof terrace.
Downstairs has a party room with DJ, dancefloor and fancy dress
box and a more chilled, outside seating area.

COLOSSUS BAR
Small but popular bar,
especially since the change of DJ.

LINDIAN HOUSE
Lively bar housed in an interesting
and historic Lindian house.

CRAZY MOON
(off a side street just before Socrates bar)
The former Karma bar is now a funky,
friendly venue offering a busy bar area,
small chill out room and plenty of outside seating.

SOCRATES
Sadly the big man himself passed away but kept in the family,
the bar has changed very little.
An atmopheric bar, offering a different scene with more of a rock vibe.

Turn left at Yannis and you’ll come to the next few bars –

ANTIKA
Recently remodelled to look more like the original building,
it offers a couple of terraces, a smart, trendy interior
and seems busier since the return of popular DJ, Emilio.

MANOLIS – ZOUK BAR
Sadly no more, 2014 sees Olive Street
restaurant replace the former Zouk

PAL’S
One of the tiniest bars in Lindos
but always busy so you’ll often find
customers spilling out onto the street.

COURTYARD
(past Kalypso) Great Lindian
decor with a dancefloor and DJ.
As well as the inside main bar there’s a popular
courtyard and bar/roof terrace upstairs.
Greek Night with live Bouzouki greek music and dancing every Sunday.

Other bars you’ll come across in the village are
ATMOSPHERE, 404, MUSEUM BAR.
60s BAR remains closed.
